MyanmarThai Privacy Policy

Account information. You may use the Service without an account, sign in with Google, or sign in anonymously. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's basic profile information (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) from Google. Anonymous sign-in creates an account with no personal details attached.

Learning content you create. You can add your own vocabulary words, categories, and images. Personal vocabulary (in "My Categories") is stored only on your device. Vocabulary added by admins/editors to shared categories, including word images, is stored on our servers so it is available to all learners.

Learning progress and quiz results. Your learning progress is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in, quiz results (such as level and score) are also saved to our servers so your results can be kept across sessions.

Contact form. If you contact us through the contact page, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit so we can reply to you.

Usage and device information. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), which automatically collects information such as pages visited, events, approximate location, device and browser type, and similar usage data. See section 4.

The Service includes a pronunciation practice feature (the "พูด" / speaking button). When you tap this button, the app requests microphone permission and uses speech recognition to convert what you say into text, which is compared with the target Thai word on your device.

On the website, recognition is performed by your browser's built-in Web Speech API. On the Android app, recognition is performed by the Android operating system's speech recognition service. In both cases the audio is processed by your browser or device provider (such as Google) to perform the recognition.

MyanmarThai does not record, store, upload, or retain your microphone audio. Only the recognized text is returned to the app, and it is used immediately to check your pronunciation. The microphone is accessed only when you tap the speaking button; permission is requested at that moment and can be revoked at any time in your browser or Android settings.

The Service stores data on your device using browser local storage and equivalent app storage, including your learning progress, personal vocabulary and images, language preference, onboarding choices, and sign-in session. This data stays on your device unless stated otherwise in this policy. Google Analytics also uses cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish visits. You can clear this data through your browser or app settings; doing so will remove locally stored progress and personal vocabulary.

We use the following providers to operate the Service:

• Google Sign-In — authentication when you choose to sign in with Google.
• Google Analytics 4 — anonymous usage statistics (pages, events, device/browser information). Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing.
• Google / device speech recognition services — convert your speech to text when you use pronunciation practice. Audio is processed by the browser or OS provider, not stored by MyanmarThai.
• Lovable Cloud (hosting, database, and file storage) — stores accounts, shared vocabulary and images, quiz results, and contact messages, and hosts the Service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

• Provide and operate the learning features of the Service.
• Save your quiz results and sync shared vocabulary across devices.
• Respond to messages you send through the contact form.
• Understand usage trends and improve the Service (via Google Analytics).
• Maintain the security and reliability of the Service.

Local data (progress, personal vocabulary) remains on your device until you clear it. Account information and cloud-stored quiz results are kept while your account exists. Shared vocabulary and images are kept while the Service operates. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to handle your request. Google Analytics data is retained according to our GA4 settings and Google's defaults.

The Service is served over HTTPS only, and access to server data is protected by authentication and row-level access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

If you are signed in, you can delete your account yourself at any time from the delete account page. After you confirm, we immediately delete your MyanmarThai account and the server-side data tied to it: your profile (name, email), quiz results, onboarding responses, and role assignments. Your Google account is not affected.

If you cannot access the app, send a deletion request from the email linked to your account through the contact page or email us (see section 11). Manual requests are completed within 30 days. You can delete locally stored data at any time by clearing the app's storage or your browser's site data.

The Service is a general-audience language learning tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us as described below.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
